IEEE Micro Author Information
Manuscripts must not exceed 6,000 words, including references (a maximum of 12), biographies, tables, and figures with captions (each average-size figure counts as 250 words). The abstract should be no more than 150 words and should describe the overall focus of your manuscript.
All submissions pass through peer review before publication. IEEE Micro does not accept previously published material or material that has been submitted for publication elsewhere. All conference papers must have at least 30 percent new content compared to the original.
Before submitting, please read the author guidelines. When you are ready to submit, please go to ScholarOne Manuscripts. Please direct any ScholarOne-related questions to the IEEE Micro magazine assistant (micro-ma@computer.org).
General submissions
IEEE Micro seeks general-interest submissions for publication in upcoming issues. These works should discuss the design, performance, or application of microcomputer and microprocessor systems. Summaries of works in progress and descriptions of recently completed works are most welcome, as are tutorials.
Special-issue submissions
Please see our calls for papers page for upcoming special issues.
Open Access
This magazine is a hybrid publication, allowing either traditional manuscript submission or author-paid Open Access (OA) manuscript submission.
The OA option, if selected, enables unrestricted public access to the article via IEEE Xplore and the Computer Society Digital Library with payment of the current Article Processing Charge (APC). The OA option will be offered to the author at the time the manuscript is submitted and the APC must be paid before the article is published in the magazine. Note that authors will receive an email from CCC-Rightslink, our APC vendor, asking for payment. Please visit the IEEE Open Access FAQs for further details. Authors seeking an APC waiver should submit substantiated evidence and documentation to pubs-waivers@computer.org. Corresponding authors from low-income countries are eligible for waived or reduced open access APCs.
The traditional option, if selected, enables access to all qualified subscribers and purchasers via IEEE Xplore and the Computer Society Digital Library. No OA payment is required.
