Computers & Electrical Engineering
Guide for Authors
Aims and scope
The impact of computers has nowhere been more revolutionary than in electrical engineering. The design, analysis, and operation of electrical and electronic systems are now dominated by computers, a transformation that has been motivated by the natural ease of interface between computers and electrical systems, and the promise of spectacular improvements in speed and efficiency.
Published since 1973, Computers & Electrical Engineering provides rapid publication of topical research into the integration of computer technology and computational techniques with electrical and electronic systems. The journal publishes papers featuring novel implementations of computers and computational techniques in areas like signal processing, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and communications.
The journal regularly publishes special sections covering specific topics of interest. Proposals for special sections should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief. The list of current special sections can be found at https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/computers-and-electrical-engineering/special-issues.
Contributions should be submitted online following the guidelines in the Guide for Authors available at https://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws-home/367/authorinstructions.
Your Paper Your Way
We now differentiate between the requirements for new and revised submissions. You may choose to submit your manuscript as a single Word or PDF file to be used in the refereeing process. Only when your paper is at the revision stage, will you be requested to put your paper in to a ‘correct format’ for acceptance and provide the items required for the publication of your article.
To find out more, please visit the Preparation section below.
Types of Contributions
Original research papers, case studies, book reviews, technical communications (maximum length 6 journal pages), software surveys, and software reviews.
Submission checklist
You can use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before you send it to the journal for review. Please check the relevant section in this Guide for Authors for more details.
