Guide for Authors
Aims and scope
The Journal of Constructional Steel Research provides an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest developments in structural steel research and their applications. It is aimed not only at researchers but also at those likely to be most affected by research results, i.e. designers and fabricators. Original papers of a high standard dealing with all aspects of steel research including theoretical and experimental research on elements, assemblages, connection and material properties are considered for publication.
Those presenting research findings in a form suitable for practical use are especially welcome. Papers reporting work in progress will also be included, provided the long-term practical implications of the research are evident, as will state-of-the-art papers, or those by designers and fabricators dealing with issues bearing directly on research.
The journal will also present technical notes, book reviews, discussions and letters to the Editor. It is intended that at intervals summaries will be included indicating current research activities throughout the world, and reports of conferences and meetings related specifically to constructional steelwork. Announcements of conference and symposia are also included in the form of a calendar.
Your Paper Your Way
We now differentiate between the requirements for new and revised submissions. You may choose to submit your manuscript as a single Word or PDF file to be used in the refereeing process. Only when your paper is at the revision stage, will you be requested to put your paper in to a 'correct format' for acceptance and provide the items required for the publication of your article.
To find out more, please visit the Preparation section below.
Types of article
Original papers, review articles and short communications. Please ensure that you select the appropriate article type from the list of options when making your submission. Authors contributing to special issues should ensure that they select the Special Issue article type from this list.
Discussions: Any comment on or discussion of a published paper should be emailed directly to the Editor, NOT submitted via the electronic submission system. It must be received by the Editor within three months of the online publication of the paper under discussion.
Corrigenda: Authors wishing to submit a corrigendum should please contact the Editor-in-chief with their corrections as well as the Journal Manager: jcsr@elsevier.com
